Spotlight

Lele Viruddha Lele
Written by veteran playwright Prakash Buddhisagar, 'Lele Viruddha Lele' is a funny yet thought-provoking play about the internal conflicts in a modern family. What is unique about this Marathi play is that it is bringing together two accomlished veteran actors - Pradeep Patwardhan and Laxmikant Berde - after a gap of 20 years. The last play in which this duo performed was 'Tur Tur,' which went on to become an instant superhit.

'Lele Viruddha Lele' is about a family comprising a 75-year-old grandfather (played by Berde), his 50-year-old son (played by Patwardhan) and his young grandson (played by Sushant Shelar), who are living together in the same house, despite their internal problems. Trouble begins when the young grandson commits the blunder of falling in love with the daughter of his father's arch rival, who lives in the same society. And the matter becomes a crisis when the young grandson marries the girl and brings her home. While the grandfather, Lele Sr., accepts the new daughter-in-law into the family, his son Lele Jr. is hugely upset and this leads to the division of the house!

Find out how this family manages to sort out its problems. 'Lele Viruddha Lele' will be staged on April 23, 4.30 p.m. at Dinanath Hall, Vile Parle.
