Were you always interested in acting?
Yes, in fact, the thought of doing something else never even crossed my mind! Right from my childhood, I used to love acting in plays. the fact that my father, Vidhyadhar Gokhale, was a reenowned musical playwright also encouraged me, for I got the opportunity to meet great people from the Marathi film industry.

What are the serials you have acted in?
Well, I have been in this profession for nearly 25 years now and I have acted in a number of serials like Shriman Shrimati, Idhar Kamal Udhar Dhamal, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Madam, Gammat Jammat, Sukhanno Ya etc. My latest serial, Hi Chawl Kuru Kuru, will be telecast on ETV by May.

What is your role in Hi Chawl Kuru Kuru?
Well, the serial is about people living together in great harmony in a chawl. It aims to promote the concept of brotherhood among people. I play the character of a man who thinks that he is a great classical singer but in fact, he has a very bad voice and has no idea about what music is all about.

Are you interested in the theatre too?
Yes, of course. I have done numerous plays in the past. Currently, I am directing a play called Lad Bapu Lad, which is a comedy.

What are the films you have acted in?
I have acted in Marathi films like Abholi, April Fool, Sonyachi Mumbai etc. I have just finished shooting for a new film called Hotel.com.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I would like to see myself writing good plays and serials. And if I get the time and the right opportunity I would like to direct some good serials - serials that will be remembered As classics!
